About Rhys Thomas

Hi, I'm Rhys, a tattooer based at Whitetail Tattoo on Dixon Street in Wellington, New Zealand. I do blackwork, fine line, colour, and traditional tattoos too. My style mixes real reference, western traditional, and modern day blackwork, with the occasional fine line piece in between.

I got into tattoos in the '90s, secretively flipping through Thrasher and tat mags at the local bookstore in the small town I grew up in. Between waves and skate sessions, it was the thing that stuck. I've been tattooing professionally for years now and I still treat every piece like it's the one someone has to live with for the rest of their life. Because it is.
